Following three wins on the bounce the Lepers were really starting to regain the confidence that had built up over the previous season. The only problem was that everybody seemed to have broken a bone. Earlier in the week, the Lepers had just three players capable of taking the pitch, the Leicester University Stalwarts: Spike, Ames and Sheen. Fortunately, as the week progressed good reports came through - Webb's speed-skipping session resulted in no serious injury. Harvey overcame the difficulties of starting a new job. And Pat Feast was overjoyed to be recalled for his second performance for the Lepers!

The early kick-off always provides a few difficulties for the working boys, but it was clear there was a desire for glory as all the boys were there on time.

The opening stages of the game saw a fair degree of battling but it didn't take long for the Lepers to take the lead. Matt Ames took a crucial advantage from a poor throw from the EPC keeper to belt the ball home (BOSH!).

After the goal there was a sustained period of pressure from PWC, proving they were a lot better than the PWC sides the Lepers had previously played! The Lepers defence was not at its organised best. A save low to Sheen's right kept the Lepers in the game, and from that he unleashed a devastating counter-attack, to which John Harvey provided the final touch. The Lepers were 2 up but it was still pretty tight!

The pressure from EPC continued and the Lepers had to be at their best to maintain their lead. Close to half-time there was severe panic in the Lepers' half and it needed a great clearance from Spike to avert the danger. That major clearance turned into a fantastic assist as the belted ball was diverted by a fantastic back-heeled volley from the prolific Will Webb.

The half-time interval arrived and, despite their dominance, the Lepers were slightly fortunate to be up by three goals!

The opposition looked a bit tired and deflated by the Lepers' third goal and the Lepers really took advantage as Matt Ames struck his second of the game to put the Lepers 4-0 ahead.

A moment of overconfidence by two players down the right flank resulted in an incident of weakness as the Lepers lept a gaping hole for an EPC player to pull back a goal, average as they were!

The conceded goal clearly spurred the "Stopper" Spike and he unleashed his forward-looking programme. He surged forward and struck to get himself a much deserved goal.

A goal from John Harvey, again straight from the throw of keeper Sheen, made the Lepers fairly comfortable at 6-1!

Not too far later, the man of the moment, Spike struck once more as he belted the ball into the keeper and the ball went in. Again, the lad surged, and found himself in some space and produced a magical finish from an hugely acute angle. The lad did well and the team were very impressed. The promotion push is clearly on!
