The Trophy Room
Having completed their triumphant first season, winning the Division 6 title, most Lepers were given the Christmas period off to recouperate for the assualt on Division 5. However, a few crazed Lepers and ringers decided to take on the challenge of The Christmas Cup on the 28th of December (presumably just to get a bit of Gunner action).

A brave performance by all saw the Lepers running out of steam in a hard-fought final and narrowly losing. Regardless, the runners-up trophy did add a second piece of silverware to the mantelpiece of those strange enough to play. As it was the team that beat the Lepers had won the Division 5 title in the Winter 06 season.

The first week of the new season was upon the Lepers and the excesses of the Christmas period was weighing heavy on a number of the Lepers. This was not immediately apparent as the Lepers leapt to a two-goal lead. John Harvey was first off the mark, sending the Lepers into rapture. That goal was quickly followed by another long-range strike from Drake. The Lepers then had several decent chances to increase their lead, but the CHA keeper was equal to all that was thrown at him.

A momentary lapse from the Lepers at the back let CHA back in the game and they found themselves back on level terms by the half-time whistle.

A beleaguered Lepers side struggled out of the traps in the second half and found themselves exposed frequently and within a blink of the eye had conceded four, leaving them 6-2 down from such a promising position.

The "Rhino", Andy Harby pulled one back for the Lepers to give them a glimmer of hope. This was sadly extinguished immediately as CHA shot from the kick-off - the ball then hitting Matt Ames in the groin and deflecting in off keeper Sheen's face. An incident summing up the entire second half.

The disconsolate Lepers traipsed dejectedly from the field at the end. Post-match the Lepers were presented with their Division 6 trophies, although there was limited enthusiasm for celebration. A few reflective pints at the Gunner were necessary!
